Gaming is big business, but playing is only half the fun. Get your game-face to our coding workshop and #LevelUp to the other side of the console.
Over a 2-hour session, we’ll help you create your own personalised game using block coding.
No coding experience?
No worries. Just bring your creativity and we’ll help with the rest.
When: Saturday, 8 December 2018, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Where: Amazon Web Services [Citigroup Centre], Level 37, 2 Park Street, Sydney, NSW 2000
Participants: Girls, ages 6-10
Prerequisites: We’ll start right from the beginning - so no prior knowledge of programming required.
What to bring: A drink bottle and water, pencil case and notebook
Code is the most in demand and critical skill of the future and Code Like A Girl is excited to be a part of the global ‘Hour of Code’ event!
Will lunch be provided?
No, this is a short workshop, lunch won't be required.
Do I need to bring my own device?
No, we will have all technology equipment on site. Students will be required to use the Code Like a Girl devices provided. This will ensure that we can set up all devices with the correct connectivity settings and software beforehand to maximise our time in the workshops. Code Like a Girl do not take any responsibility for damage or loss of any devices brought to the workshops by students.
My child has never coded. Is this program suitable?
Yes! Your child will learn basic coding concepts using both online and offline activities and games. She will work through the program at her own pace.
My child has attended a coding class before. Will this still be useful?
Yes! This is a great opportunity for your budding coder to meet like-minded friends and apply her skills to new projects. There will be a number of open-ended activities that will extend your child and keep them feeling engaged and challenged.
