Python is a popular programming language that is used widely in the industry.
This workshop is an introduction to some general programming concepts and terminology, like types, operators, functions, control statements, loops, libraries, and some more treats, if time permits.
This workshop will provide you with a great starting point into the world of programming. It is aimed at beginners in coding and no prior coding knowledge is required. The only expectation is that participants will have a willingness to learn, help each other and step out of their comfort zone.
By the end of the session you’ll be equipped with some basic concepts to help you take the next steps in the world of programming.

Prerequisites: No prior knowledge of coding required

Gala grew up in Mexico and went to uni in Boulder where she completed an applied mathematics degree. Her first career was as a maths and science teacher. After (and during) studying masters in math, focused on Operations Research, she taught herself coding and hasn’t looked back since! She now uses her coding and analytics skills at Neighbourlytics, a start-up focused on understanding neighbourhoods through social data. At Code Like a Girl she lends her data analytics skills, runs workshops and inspires the entire team on a daily basis.
