Code Like a Girl workshops are a great place for girls to come together and learn to code for the first time; we not only teach girls computational thinking and coding skills but we put a great emphasis on empowering young girls to feel confident in the area of technology.
Ever wondered what’s inside a computer? Could it be a little team of Minions working away? Find out what’s really inside at our workshop.
Our little budding coders will get to “decode” their Easter celebrations by decorating eggs with algorithms. They will then challenge each other by coding an easter egg hunt before all joining in on the search.
This workshop introduces algorithms, sequences and scratch via imagination and play... and Easter Eggs!
Code Like a Girl workshops complement the Digital Technologies curriculum; a comprehensive set of required content and achievement standards for all students from Foundation to Level 10 and are loosely structured in accordance with it.

MEET OUR FACILITATORS
Our workshops are facilitated by a team of female industry experts who volunteer their time to share their knowledge and stories with our students. There is a lack of female role models in the tech industry and there is still strong stereotype bias around women in IT.
"You can't be what you can't see"
We've seen great results where young girls feel empowered and inspired to consider careers in coding after coming along to meet and learn from our facilitators. All facilitators, speakers, and volunteers have an up to date working with children check.
